South West Vermont

The town of Manchester, VT is graced with muddy folk sporting heavy packs from Spring clear on through to the Fall, as the Long Trail and Appalachian Trail meander through the mountains just east of town. Lucky hikers hitch a ride to and from town.

Fellahs, if there are more than two of you, you’ll be waiting a LONG time. In fact, plan on walking to town.

One of the most popular places for hikers in Manchester is the Mountain Goat. Located on 7A in the heart Manchester Center they sport a wide selection of equipment, throw the occasional sale, and have some of the nicest staff. I received quite the education on hiking boots one day.

The Mountain Goat is the go-to place for sports in every season. We’ve purchased ski bindings, shoes, and everything in between there.
