Battenkill River Pottery in Arlington

By admin • Jul 3rd, 2007 • Category: Arts and Culture

A good man is hard to find.

It’s even harder to find a good potter.

Eversince we moved to Vermont we’ve been looking for a good potter and luckily a talented potter has moved to Arlington and set up Battenkill River Pottery. She does fantastic work–we bought a beautiful vase for Julie’s friend as a wedding gift–that is both artistic and functional.

A casual trip through Arlington on route 7A will bring you to her recently renovated studio that is full or pots, mugs, bowls, vases, and many other items. She’s just a stone’s throw from the post office on 7A. Stop in. I guarantee you’ll enjoy her work.

On Vermont Vacation she states:
“I am inspired by ancient Chinese ceramics, traditional Japanese folk pottery and by the North Carolina pottery being made today. I use a blend of traditional methods and techniques with modern technology to aid the process. I love to make my own clay, glazes and tools, as ancient potters would have done. ”
