Lake Paran in North Bennington

By admin • Aug 9th, 2007 • Category: Diversions, Summer Sports

If you’re looking for a nice little beach on a small lake with a tremendous view of the Green Mountains, then Lake Paran is the perfect place. Nestled in North Bennington, Lake Paran is a great spot to hang for the day, especially with kids.

The admission last time we were there is $3.50 for adults and $1.00 for children. It’s well worth it though. The lake is clean and the grounds are in very good shape. There is a large picnic area, plenty of lawn to lay on, and a small beach for kids to romp around on.

Canoes and kayaks can be rented and the rest rooms are clean and ideal for changing after your swim for a dry ride home. If you didn’t plan ahead, snacks can be purchased as well.

We had a great day swimming out past the boundaries of the swim area and hung out by the raft for diving and whatever else. Canoes and kayaks utilize the other side of the lake for fishing or a short, quiet paddle.
